Introduction

Within the pages of this website you will find information that I have gathered over the past 20 years or so regarding the history of all of the known pubs and breweries of Barton upon Humber, Barrow Haven, Barrow upon Humber, and New Holland. Both past and present.

Along the way, I have also come across other interesting material regarding the entertainments and social lives of the people in these towns, and I have also shared that here. You will find information about the local cinemas and theatres, local photographers, the temperance movement, carriers and coachmen, off licenses and wine & spirit merchants and friendly societies.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone with any extra information, and I would also welcome anyone wishing to share old photographs or items relating to the old pubs and breweries of the area, however small. Particularly the breweries, which are a great passion of mine.
